3 things that come to mind when I think of Bhavesh:
1) Resilient – He’s always up for a challenge. He isn’t afraid to get outside of his comfort zone, and willing to work through personal and transactional fatigue.
2) Proactive – He brings the vision of an owner as an intermediary which means he anticipates ownership’s concerns instead of reacting to issues as an advisor/consultant.
3) Personable – He has an ability to make others feel like they’re lifelong friends or family. One engages with a spirit of transparency which results in unwavering trust from others.
I have a good working relationship with Bhavesh and he is indeed one of my first phone calls when reaching out to HWE. He is a hard-working professional and his network reaches across the nation. I have watched him grow over the years and he is very pleasant to chat with.
We had the pleasure of working with B.J. on the Bankruptcy sale of the Yachtsman Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. The property was offered as a bulk sale of 159 condominium units in two eight-story towers, which are separated by Bluegreen Seaglass Tower Timeshare Resort. There are 3 primarly qualities that BJ displayed during the process that come to mind – Transparency, Market Knowledge and exceptional communication skills. We were pleased with exiting this scenario with BJ’s help.
Bhavesh (BJ) represented our firm, Helix Hospitality, in a sale transaction for a midscale select service asset in South Carolina in 2016. BJ worked tirelessly to ensure we had multiple offers and created a competitive environment to drive pricing while guiding us towards a transaction with the most certainty to closing. BJ’s network and ability to build genuine relationships with both buyers and sellers is truly remarkable. I have personally known BJ for well over 10 years and he it’s truly an advocate for his clients, not to mention one of the most humble and levelheaded individuals I’ve met in the hospitality industry.
In 2009, I had just been engaged by Newmark (at the time, Grubb & Ellis) to recruit hotel investment sales professional across the country. Tim Dick (at the time, at Trimont) introduced me to B.J. in 2010 and I immediately hired him as a Jr. Broker/Associate. Before me, he reported John Russell, another good friend of mine and veteran in the business. At the time, B.J. was new to investment sales, but I was certain that he had all the “tools in the toolkit” to be successful, he hunted a deal down in the very first week. Defined by hard work, determination, knowledge, a “go getter attitude”, and a vast network across all segments and client types, I had the pleasure of working together for nine years and have no regret. If I had not retired, along with a couple other things, we may well be still working together. I wish him all the best in the coming years.
I have known BJ for about 15 years, pretty much ever since he started in the brokerage world. I find that he is good with relating to all types of people across all generations of hoteliers. This was one consideration that I pondered upon prior to engaging him to dispose of my asset.
B.J. is HWE’s secret weapon.
I met BJ Bhavesh Patel through a mutual business acquaintance. Having been in the hotel market for a number of years I sincerely appreciate BJ’s interest to work for his client. His dedication to do a thorough analysis and process to provide merger and acquisition in hospitality is rare and greatly appreciated. He will work outside the box to provide services to his client in a personable and detailed process with a high degree of integrity. Highly recommend working with BJ if you are selling or buying hotel property.
BJ is just a great guy to know!! He is very professional and knowledgable about the hospitality industry!!! I look forward to doing business with him in the future!!
BJ is a strong broker and I would use him on other engagements.
